The man eased open his dresser
drawer and extracted the gun case
contained therein. Placing the box
upon the bed, he opened the lid and
pulled out the Glock 17 9mm hand-
gun. He pulled off the slide, attached
the new Tungsten Guide Rod, and
refitted the slide.

He admired the polymer-framed pistol
and eagerly anticipated target practice
later that morning.

Pulling a gray sweater over his slight
frame, he fitted the Glock into his belly
holster and picked up his textbooks from
the night table, then took his fourteen-year-
old self downstairs and off to school. He
had a subway to catch.
