Hello everyone, today is the fifth Monday of June and so it’s a Literary Jackpot post. I am taking the opportunity to introduce you to Rosie’s Book Review Team (RBRT).
Rosie Amber’s blog is a platform where readers can find books by new and interesting authors to read and review and authors can find readers for their books.

Introduction to Rosie Amber
In Rosie’s own words:

«Thank you for stopping by and taking a break from the chaos of life. Take the weight off of your feet for a while and find something about your day to smile about; thank you for becoming part of my world, if just for a minute or two. It’s a shame you can’t smell the roses, but if you take a virtual stroll around I hope you’ll find a book you might like to curl up with, some useful advice if you’re a writer or blogger, or one of my more personal pieces that you may find interesting. On Saturday’s you’ll stumble across a gardening post as I talk about my growing appreciation for plants and wildflowers.
I was brought up in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. I started blogging to combine a love of reading with a desire to embrace social technology; since then it’s developed into a passion to introduce avid readers to new writers, and offer a platform for little-known talent.
I review nearly all the books that I read, and post to Goodreads and Amazon UK. Aside from this blog, you’ll see my reviews posted on Twitter/X, and Instagram. Recently I have been submitting relevant reviews to TripFiction. I take submissions for my personal reading list, and also have a review team with approximately 12 active readers; if you would like to submit your book, please click the ‘Your Book Reviewed’ page, above.
I am so grateful for the support from visitors to my blog, and all you have done to spread the word about it on social media, not least of all nominating me for online blog awards. I was proud to be awarded runner-up in ‘Best Book Blog’ award in 2016, in the Bloggers Bash, and third place in 2015 and 2017. Our blog is in the top 20 UK book blogs on Feedspot, number 2 spot on Ranked Read’s Book Reviewer list and it appears on many other listings of book bloggers.
The Rosie Amber blog is an ever-growing, ever evolving entity, and my wish is to continue to provide a great service to readers, writers and blog addicts everywhere. Comments always welcome ~ enjoy!»

My review of Heritage Mountain by Karen Black

I reviewed this book in my capacity as a member of Rosie’s Book Review Team.

Heritage Mountain is an entertaining supernatural fantasy novel set in the Adirondack mountains. A married couple and two friends, experienced with expeditions into wild natural habitats, set off on a journey to discover the remains of any historical human settlements in the area. Their aim is find a way of supporting an application for the area to be put under protection as a heritage site thereby protecting the natural environment from greedy people intent on discovering the ancient mines that are rumoured to exist.
The cast of characters is not standard with two of the four adventurers being witches with abilities to see and communicate with the fae. The leader of the expedition, Marco, who is becoming close to Maria, is the only one of the four who doesn’t not know about the two women’s gifts. Soon after the group arrives and sets up camp, they are sighted by a man of evil intent who has been searching for the mine for some years. He is aware of them but they do not initially know about him and his accomplice and this situation creates some good tension in the plot.
The story is filled with fascinating mythical beings including elves, stargazers, and goliaths whose homes are under threat from human activities. The four are intent on saving and protecting the area from damage by humans and there is also a subplot where Marco discovers Maria’s unusual gifts and must come to terms with them or move on from the relationship.
This is an entertaining story that reminded me of fairytales I read as a child and the Eva Ibbotson books I read as a young teenager and again as an adult. This book is a wonderful distraction from everyday life and problems.
