Hello everyone
This post has been a few months in the making. Some of you will remember that in January this year I shared an analysis about Leda and the Swan for my Famous Artworks series on LatinosUSA. The material was submitted by Nicole Sara.

My great blogging friend, Resa McConaghy, read this post and she remembered some wonderful murals of swans she had photographed. So the idea for this post about swans was born.

Fountaine de Leda in Paris by Robbie
During my recent trip to Paris I went to Jardin du Luxemberg to see the famous Medici Fountain. When I went around the back of this fountain to take photographs on the other side, I saw another fountain and took a photograph of it took. When I looked it up, it turned out to be Fountaine de Leda which depicted the story of Leda and the Swan. Below is the poem I wrote about it which was first published on my blog, Roberta Writes.

Fontaine de Leda
hidden fountain
depicting in stone
the seduction of Aetolian princess, Leda
by sky and thunder god, Zeus
in the form of a swan
Leda holds the bird
on her knees while
water flows from its bronze beak
the pair, encircled by roses
are shot by an arrow
from Cupid, lurking in the corner
The Fountaine de Leda is at the back of the Medici Fountain and a lot of people miss it. I saw it because I walked around the back of the Medici Fountain to get photographs on the other side.

Fondant Swans by Robbie

«Swan» Art Gown by Resa
Resa’s gorgeous Swan Art Gown was previously called Mystic Lake. The name evolved because this gown became known as Swan by the model, Paige Marie Anderson, who wore her and the photographer.
This gown is dedicated to Ceramic Artist Belén Soto from Arcilla y Fuego.
Resa says she bought an adorable Black Drake from Belén . As the Black Drake was lonely & looking for a wife, Belén & Resa started a Marriage Agency for Ducks.
Belén designed 2 beautiful candidates, Lúa and Mar. A wedding gown was needed. As expected, the duck bride to be loved this gown.
