when it
seemed
that DIY was

New Normal, TTM
(Tend to Me) reminded
us that the very young,
the very old, plus
infirm of any age
need some extra
help just to
function
at all.

AMP UP THE GAME

When our son was very young,
we decided to treat him to a fun
experience offered by a local
pizza restaurant. Though they
were known for serving some
of the most Atrociously Mediocre
Pizza, they had a bounce ball
house that seemed to please the
kids. Now our son is grown, is
one hundred percent Vegan, and
has no offspring with whom to
share that fun experience.

He is the sole heir
to inherit many things
that just aren’t that fun

EVEN SHORTER

My attention span has become
even shorter than the recipe for
Shortenin’ Bread, and my pace
for following directions is slowed
down by all that hog lard until no
finished product ever materializes.
So instead, I spend some bread at
the local café, consume coffee all
day. I’ll see myself out, I know the
way. Once home, will have to
avoid the kitchen, with that baking
pan sitting ready for the main event
to happen, while I relax back in my
recliner chair, without a care, at TV
I stare. The missing element is a
remote control that lets all of us tall
-hat chefs just push buttons to create
a meal, no big deal, nothing to peel,
no need for zeal, go back to sleep.

VOICES FROM BEYOND

At the Grand Canyon, we are told that anywhere
we point our camera is a beautiful image to share

In a political race, we are told that anywhere we
point our finger is a pompous fool

You are suddenly destitute, and everyone you ask
tells you the well has run dry

We used to have options and choices for making things better,
now we are told that our vote doesn’t count

If the only clothing you own is a black tie, you are ready for
any occasion except Casual Friday (source: Anonymous)

All’s well that ends well works best if you have sufficient funds
