Habit is the enormous fly-wheel of society,
its most precious conservative agent.
William James, Psychology I)
I had this talk with myself: There is one rumor
I believe is true – that is the statement that when
facts are asserted alone, without citing reliable
sources, those facts themselves must be viewed
as mere rumors. Facts can range from handy
stepping stones to perilous quicksand. Our feet
don’t really know the difference until applying
pressure, which is either supported in full or not
at all.
If I order and purchase a certain pizza and
receive one that is somehow less than described
on the menu, but it satisfies me 100%, I will
likely be a repeat customer. Is this the persistent
indifference of addiction? My personal culinary
preferences have not undergone laboratory testing
that can be replicated to scientifically prove any
facts or general rules. No worry, consume it,
enjoy it, get some more. Works for me.
