Ricochet Tears by Karlyn Grace
I kept going back, wondering if the past is worth the present fight.
The agony was a lesson to see in every angst.
Treading water in places to breath me in back to life.
Is it still love if I’m tirelessly dead inside?
Misery brought us together to grow colder.
The chances I gave could only taste bitter.
We are in constant euphoria of unsettling glitter.
Shining through a rust of love that gets harder.
A nuisance I knew of dismantled emotions.
Escapism, a habit I once abjure; honing abrasions.
Of love and its endless persuasion.
Am I to stay or leave, altered.
