“Broken Trust” by Bill Tope

Crystal turned to Robert. She said, “Don’t ever touch me again!”

His hand fell away.

“When you cheated, you lost me forever,” she declared.

“You can’t mean that. We’ve been together for years.”

She stared at him.

“It was only one time; we can start over.”

She shook her head. “I can never trust you again. A relationship is like a fine porcelain cup. If it gets fractured, it can be repaired, but the crack will always be there. I’ll always love you, Robert, but I’ll forever see that girl, with you, in our bed.”

Without another word, Robert left.
