«Crucifix» by Karlyn Miraflor
I lay awake dead and empty in the hollow arms of lonely, darkness is all what I can see.
Buried six feet under the furies of my rotten self,
I struggle to cleanse «the old me.»
Pride and arrogance- when will you set me free?
I stare at your image with shame and guilt.
How can someone omniscient still love me the same?
You continue to weep the wounds of yesterday and today
Your love and mercy always reigns.
You love the broken, care for the sick.
Forgive sinners like me tirelessly
Despite the repeating cycle of nuances and confusion,
You remain faithful; someone who loves me just the same.
