On Sunday I went for a walk with my husband at the Johannesburg Country Club in Woodmead. It is known for its bird trails and it also offers a beautiful golf course.

This is a family affair:

First me running the Windsor Great Park Half marathon in 1983, and in the Fareham 10 mile road race in support of my nephew, Adam’s day nursery in January 1987.

Switching to rugby, we have me and Geoff Austin in the lineout in 1982. Sam was to continue the rugby, here for Magnus school against Kings Grantham: https://derrickjknight.com/2015/05/09/magnus-v-kings-grantham/.

In https://derrickjknight.com/2018/09/11/ive-got-to-go-and-do-it-for-grandpa/ my grandson, Oliver continued the cricket.

This features my son Sam in the Wadham Oxford College rowing eight taking part in the Hear of the River (Thames) race. He is in the centre of this group.
