Hi everyone, it’s Robbie Cheadle here with you today with my April post in the Nature Photography section on LatinosUSA – English Edition. Today, I am showcasing Fungi.

If you have a Fountains photograph to share in the Buildings & Architecture section, please email me at cheadlerobbie@gmail.com and use the title Photography – Buildings & Architecture. Please also include a short write up about your photograph.

Some sort of mushroom by Robbie Cheadle

I came across this interesting thick and tall creamy coloured fungus that I assume is some sort of mushroom. My iphone didn’t identify this fungus so I’m not sure exactly what it is. I thought it was rather interesting so I took a few pictures of it.

If anyone knows what mushroom this is, please let me know.

Honey Fungus by Derrick Knight

Derrick Knight has a fantastic blog that includes interesting book reviews, photographs, and family anecdotes.

Chicken of the Woods by Anne from Something Over Tea

Anne is a fellow South African with a lovely blog called Something Over Tea. This is how Anne describes her blog:

In between reading and writing I love watching birds in my garden, sharing my enjoyment of tea, and taking photos of patterns in nature. I enjoy visiting game reserves and enjoy being in the outdoors. I am constantly surprised by the variety of creatures I come across in the garden and by the scribbled notes I find in my old notebooks. This is my space to share all these things.

The picture below is of a fungus called Chicken of the Woods. You can see more pictures and read about this fungus on Anne’s blog here: https://somethingovertea.wordpress.com/2026/03/14/chicken-of-the-woods/

Welcome back, Robbie! I’m glad you had a great time at France. Your fungus are interesting. My Googel photo identify it as a Shaggy Mane (Coprinus comatus), also known as a Shaggy Ink Cap. I have many fountain photos. I’ll email them to you tomorrow.

Some very interesting looking fungi photos. Once we had a giant mushroom growing in our backyard. It was about a meter across and half a meter tall. I thought about calling the newspaper. However, before I could do that or take a photo of it the kids smashed it.
