Talented blogger, Resa of Graffiti Lux Art & More blog, shares a marvelous post featuring a mural with several wild cats. You can read her post here: https://graffitiluxandmurals.com/2026/02/11/cats-the-big-ones/
Resa’s post inspired me to showcase cats for this month’s Nature photograph challenge.
Young Male Lion by Robbie Cheadle
During a recent short trip to Fifty-seven Waterberg in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, we had a terrific sighting of this young male lion. He was mating for his first time with a young lioness and was completely focused on her.

I named him Angel. He showed up in the backyard, he was very thin and clearly without a home one evening seven years ago. He lived under the shed where I fed him regularly for about a year. Then he just disappeared after about 10 months, one morning he showed up begging for something to eat, he now looked like this. I moved from that area 2 years ago, I saw him just before I left, he was healthy, strong still very loving, sweet and independent.
