What is the Book About?
The cover design, by Kerri Costello, reflects my perceptions of the world that surrounds me. When you look closely at the reflection of the Island in the water, with a bit of imagination, the image appears to be of a guitar.
My book is divided into 10 diverse and imaginative Chapters, each accompanied by a creative drawing by Kerri.

Praise for «Until Eyes Hear Sounds»
The title “Until Eyes Hear Sound” can have different meanings depending on your interpretation. It could be a poetic expression, a metaphor for waiting for something to happen, or a state of deep concentration where one is so focused on one’s inner vision that one becomes oblivious to external sounds.
Ivor’s poems do not suggest having the answers, but his words encourage you to think about our environment, as he ponders the purpose of our existence in the universe.
“If you love poetry that challenges, inspires, and moves you,
this book is for you”.

Bird on a Ladder I am a blackbird on a circus ladder Singing about how the world is feeling sadder Or should I sing, “becoming madder” Here on the last rung I stand Below, I see a treeless land Above, I hear a breathless sky After the show, I untangle my necktie And I ask you why “Does it matter, when I leap, what route do I fly?” Time Strolls I am no sleepy koala Nor a pretty brolga I am stoic and ancient, like Mount Olga An old scribe from Tullawalla You cannot feel my heart Nor can you see my star chart I am an astronaut without a spacecraft An old pilot from the Lost Ark I am not flying alone in the dark Nor will I swim among the hungry sharks I am a dreamer fishing for humanity's restart A disciple waiting to disembark Flying Bricks of War There is a divisive brick wall That stands harsh and tall To stop people breaking their fall Then the leaders in ivory towers Ceased talking about peace and flowers And hurled bricks into that sandy strip One brick after another brick Flew from one side to the other Smashing innocent children and mothers Flying bricks crumbling into dust Creating dirty clouds of mistrust The walls of Babylon fell again As brick upon brick crushed human brains Brick upon brick filled the bloody drains Brick upon brick killed and maimed © Ivor Steven
