Excerpts from «Ink Stained Love»

You Watched Me Die

I watched me die eight years ago
How she broke my heart no one will ever know
I fell in love way back when
But I fell from grace and now wallow in sin

Does she think of me, I have no clue
Does she dance on my grave when she talks to you
I watched me die eight years ago
When she slept with you, she killed my soul

I became a drifter, I was lost in the wind
There was no path to return home again
Someday I’ll be found in a potter’s lot
My knowledge of love forever lost and forgot

This life of pain is what she left behind
The pain shot through my heart into my mind
You watched me die as you read this poem
From a shattered heart and a broken home

Nighttime Juilet

Step over into the dark side
Where the light is not so bright
And I will name you Juliet
Because it just sounds so right

I’ll serenade you with love songs
I’ll give you flowered tattoos
I’ll treat you the way
That Romeo is really supposed to

So brush your hair softly
Think thoughts of love so sweet
I’ll wait to sing you love songs
About tenderness when again we meet

Over on the dark side
Where my love is waiting for you
I will not only be your Romeo
But you’re Casanova too

I want to caress your soul with love songs
Massage your body with oils
For only on the dark side Juliet
Can our love truly show

So close your lovely eyes and drift over
To the dark side to see what you will get
Give a listen to my love songs
And sweet dreams, my Nighttime Juliet

Remember

When I was young, you watched me run and play
As I grew older, the neon lights took me away
Our paths were different, but crossed now and again
Through it all, you loved me until the end

Years have passed, and silver has entered our hair
Believe this, mother, I still love you/ and care
Every day should be filled with laughter and joy
You’ll get help with that from your baby boy

Not everything is going to be ok, try and remain calm
Simple things will scare you and cause you to have false alarms
I’ll be there to reassure you and try to help ease the pain
I’ll share the joy of the glimpse of your former self now and again

Simple things are no longer simple, fear has now taken their place
But your love for me still brightens your beautiful face
You’ll find sweet lady that I will always be right here
To fight for you the battles of confusion and terror
You brought me into this life and helped me to see
Not everything is right or wrong. Dementia scares the shit out of me
