Published by

Hi everyone, it’s Robbie Cheadle here with you today with the first post in my new Photography section on LatinosUSA – English Edition.

The Photography Section will comprise a weekly photography post with a weekly theme as follows:

First week of the month – Animals

Second week of the month – People

Third week of the month – Nature

Fourth week of the month – Buildings and Architecture.

If there is a fifth week, we will have a jackpot photography post.

I would love all the photographers out there to contribute to this section. If you have a photograph to share in one of these categories, please email me at cheadlerobbie@gmail.com and use the title Photography – [specific theme]. Please also include a short write up about your photograph.

Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo

For this first People themed post, I am featuring Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo.

Shibuya Crossing is one of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks. It is known as the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing where thousands of people cross from all directions simultaneously.

It is estimated that between 1,000 and 3,000 people cross at Shibuya Crossing every two minutes. This amounts to a flow of over 500,000 pedestrians daily.

Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo… very nice! I will try to remember that, maybe I will visit Japan some time in the future, would really love to. I received an invitation a few years ago, from a former student of mine (she chose to study there), but I haven’t honored the invitation yet. Your picture shows well how busy the place is indeed. 😊

That’s a LOT of people! I think I am happy looking at your photo – I don’t think I’d want to be there!

Hi Freya, I would not want to live in Tokyo as it is so busy and densely populated. It was fascinating to watch people crossing here, like watching a river flow. The Japanese are very rule orientated and do not jay walk. They wait for the green man.
