Cinnamon Eclipse by Paul Tristram

… something happens when you smile,

you give a ’Light’ and a ‘Feeling’,

that’s quite ‘Addictive’ in itself,

it’s the front-end of curious, for sure.

Remember when we both agreed

no ‘Always’ and ‘Forevers’,

that instead we’d concentrate on ‘Now’,

filling every nook and cranny of it

with everything which we’ve got,

then let it skyscraper-rise from there

… well, I’m finding it too confining,

I want much more of You than that.

I attached the smell of ‘Pine Smoke’

to that beauty spot on top of your arm,

thirteen full moons’ ago,

and I’ve been tinkering with it ever since.

It only ever rains (now) when I’m alone,

otherwise, it’s just another excuse

to bring your quick steps closer to mine.

I know that the George Bellows sketch

‘Blessed Are The Peacemakers’

which I’ve tacked to the bathroom wall

makes you sigh deeply, and frown…

but, it’s how life was before your Colour.
