Today I am extremely pleased and proud to present you with an extraordinary writer from my neighbour country of Portugal… Susana Cabaço who is a writer, a scientist, and a mystic. I really think you will greatly enjoy this interview/article as much as we have.
A LITTLE ABOUT SUSANA
She was born in Évora, Portugal and currently lives in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Susana Cabaço, PhD, is a marine biologist who graduated from the University of Algarve (Portugal), where she worked for many years in scientific research, and a mystic who, for decades, has been journeying the paths of spirituality. Love for Spirit and Nature led her naturally to share her unique spiritual insights and more conscious ways of living through messages that inspire many in their personal journey toward higher awareness and renewed beingness. She’s currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria, where, along with her partner Dimitar and her fur babies Safira and Be, she finds the opportunity to express her inner essence through spiritual writing and digital content.

AND WE TALKED ABOUT THESE THREE TOPICS
LatinosUSA: As a writer, i. e. a person engaged in creative thinking and activities, how do you see your profession and your creative activities coexisting with AI?
Susana: I am definitely not an AI enthusiast. I understand its benefits to humans—facilitating people’s lives—but I think it’s important to be aware that AI cannot replace our humane side. AI repeats or computes information. Humans think, feel, and have a conscience. And these are essential aspects for creative activities. Humans create, and the creative flow comes from inside—it’s powered by the soul. In this context—and call me old-fashioned if you want—I prefer to keep writing from my inner center, not using AI, and in no way do I feel threatened by it. The soulless AI can’t compete with soulful writing. An attentive and sensitive reader will not only know the difference but also value what has real value—what speaks to their soul. Soul-to-soul communication is gold and can’t be artificially replaced.
LatinosUSA: Do you believe writers, teachers, artists, in general, all those engaged in the wide world of the arts, should speak out against injustice, and other social issues? And also about the political situation of their country or other countries of the world?
Susana: I think they should do it, yes, especially if their “speak out” comes from their heart and not just because of the pulls and flows of society. In other words, it should be an answer to their inner call, something they feel inspired to do and is in alignment with their core values. This may take many forms, including their creative expressions. Still, the idea should always be raising people’s awareness of those situations and showing them new ways, rather than just “throwing stones” against the system. That the world has enough already.
A word of caution, though: because many creatives are sensitive people, their engagement with more inflamed issues of today’s world may cause them to get disconnected from their inner creativity center and flux. In this case, their best contribution is actually the beauty and relevance of their expressions, which by themselves are already of great service to the world.
LatinosUSA: What are your current plans and how do you see yourself in the near future in terms of your career as a writer?
Susana: For a long time I stopped planning for the future—near or far. The most significant events in my life happened unexpectedly—unplanned and suddenly! I trust in the bigger plan and in the benevolent flow of life. I prefer to be, as much as possible, in the here and now. To give it my full attention while being present with myself. Inner connection and inner alignment are the most important things for me. It is from this inner-centeredness that my writings come through. That the inner creative flow comes to light. And this is something precious not only to me but also to the many reading them (mostly through my blog and social media, also through my books). I feel it as part of my mission here on Earth. It’s a simple, unambitious mission, you may think, but the feedback I receive shows me otherwise.
The inspiration, empowerment, upliftment, open-mindedness, realization, and enhanced awareness given to many by my short mystical pieces are relevant and even life-changing. Personally, too, my writing keeps me centered and blooming. It takes me easily into the bigger picture and timeless awareness. And so, for as long as there is benefit within and without, this is how I broadly see the next segments of my life journey. In the meantime, chances are that two new books, now in preparation, will come out. I am sure it will happen in perfect divine timing!
