Cheval Mirror by Sterling Warner

Black lace crinoline
hung below phantom knees
untouched by scars
exuding sexual alure
& virgin naïveté
as toned as mannequin
thighs curving, melting
into unrivaled calves.

Chrétien de Troyes heroine leaned
on primping tables avoided stone floors.

Guinevere approved of her
reflection winking back
from the looking glass
turning left to right
looking up then down
imagining how her posture
perfect figure would ascend
Camelot’s marble staircase.

Like hand crafted porcelain, feminine
mystic never appeared so pure & fragile.

This is very beautiful. Youth is almost fleeting.
