Two buzzards

in a thermal chimney

soar high above the hillside

wings in silhouette

sky dancing

over field and copse.

Suddenly they hover

Soundlessly fall

like an upthrown stone

claws outstretched

and disappear from sight.

.

Natures’ patient hunters

momentary beings

expressions of ancient harmony

In a world said to be governed by men

manifestations of Right Order

Lords of the Sky.
