Tomorrow is the 1st of October and the beginning of Halloween month. Although Halloween is not celebrated in southern Africa, I have always enjoyed dark and macabre stories and so I love joining in America’s celebrations with all my blogging friends.
In anticipating of this terrific month of spooky treats, books, movies, and all other things Halloween, I am sharing some of my Halloween confectionary creations over the years.
Skelly and the Wild Dog
Skelly was an existing character when I created this version of him dressed as an Afrikaner ‘boer’ (farmer) during the frontier days of South Africa. Skelly has a pet wild African painted dog and they both died when their wagon was attacked and burned. Skelly and the wild dog are made of fondant and the wagon is made from gingerbread.
