«HER» by Friscia Magbanua
She is my silent prayer,
stitched beneath my ribs.
I do not say her name—
the night already knows.
The moon keeps our distance,
silver and untouchable.
Still, I look up.
Hope is a cruel star—
beautiful,
too far.
If loving her is exile,
I will learn the language of waiting.
If she never turns back,
let it be said
I loved her
like dawn loves the horizon—
always reaching,
never quite arriving.
