A SILHOUETTE BALLERINA DANCING By Mike Steeden

I’ve never known love
and I’ve never known hate
and charcoal letters on the wall
help seal my planets fate

Ballerina dancing
and she’s just a silhouette
an offer to the condemned man
of one last cigarette

All I know is all I know
and all I know is real
like a scarecrow on the gallows
it is not a major ordeal

I’ve seen that writing on the walls
in shadow land today
telling of another place
a place of no night and day

I’m a tale still in the telling
as if a book that’s almost read
yet my journey isn’t started yet
even so I think that I’m ahead

All there is, is what you see
here there’s nothing left to explore
I watch this world pass me by
never thinking there could be more

So soon I’ll view the galaxy
flying my spaceship way past Mars
I’m going to find all that’s supernatural
and you Ballerina, I'll take you with me through the stars
