«Lullabies in the Dark» by Scarlet Rose
your nightmares have grown familiar,
so much so that waking up from them
is an afterthought.
your tears have turned to tenderness
so much that laughter and smiles
no longer grace your day.
your cries have become lullabies,
so much so that singing and dancing
have lost their rhythm.
but my dear,
is this how you want to live?
have you truly never dreamed
of deep slumbers in dreamland?
of joy spilling from your lips?
of the joyous rhythms of your heart?
my dear,
life is waiting for you.
