hen the trees start to bud after the harsh winter conditions, they gently bring about the energy of hope. Hope in warmer and brighter days and in the mildness and potential of life. The buds tell that the worst is behind. The standby of winter, though necessary for natural rebalancing, is not meant to last forever. The splendor and creation of spring and the celebration and harvest of summer have their place in the circles of life. And as the wheel turns—as it always does—new and multiple expressions and patterns of life, by species and on the whole, come to light. They make way for the magnificence and abundance of the natural realm.
As the trees begin budding, they are also showing you that life always wins. It prevails no matter how harsh things sometimes get. It may be an individual’s or a species’ win, but, in the end, life continues to unfold and even to evolve, one way or another. And because in Nature there’s no such thing as separation—interconnectedness is one of its core templates—many processes and potentials can derive from one single aspect. From bud to blossom to fruit, passing through insects, birds, rodents, and so on, the possibilities are countless. A web of life, truly, that is fostered in a myriad of ways, touching many life forms meaningfully. Humans are included, of course, for all people on Earth are an integral part of the great scheme of life, irrespective of how urban or advanced they may think they are.
In the end, all living things are children of Mother Earth, and so even the budding of a tree is significant at some level—physically, mentally, or spiritually—for your life. If the message of hope passed on by the buds reached your heart, then your personal journey was somehow already brightened, no?
