«Bittersweet Memories» by Danna Garbida

I anxiously touched the last message you sent,
Where distant uncovered, and took me breathless.
Hands went stoned, eyes got soaked.
The pastures blue, drifted away truth unveiled.

In the hot weather afternoon, I got lost in time.
A bittersweet memories were back in line.
Letters I recall in the past, ghosted me in this daylight.
Tough time tested me again until I carried till midnight.

Oh, what a frigle refrain, could’ve forgotten those lines.
Could’ve not remember what you made me felt that time.
How could we both become selfish on our own pastures?
I could’ve have choose to chase Blue, same with yours.

But we chose different pastures and left with just a footnote.
Leaving us only a sent message, never seeing each other again.
Living a life well-lived, leaving memories behind.A reminder of what could’ve been, forever to last.

And what about us, we never see each other again.
I now carry on my chosen field, where love and joy did roam.
A pasture green, where dreams no longer chased but lived.
We don’t live happily ever after, but I did.
