A Little Silliness by Peter Lingard

To fly like a bird
is not too absurd
The wings of Southwest
might help us the best

To swim like a fish
is more than a wish
To plunge into water
is all that we oughta
~~

To write a poem
instead of a tome
takes a few secs
and not much text

To write a tome
instead of a poem
takes a lot morem
makes backside sore
~~

Playing the poet?
Not much to it
Rhythm and rhyme
and four to a line

If one adds notes
like music of folks
Making a song
does not take long
~~

When I tie my shoelaces
my feet take me places
Travelling far without a care
way beyond here to anywhere

I come home, my shoes come off
the rest of my dusty clothes I doff
I suddenly find I have a care
for the cleansing feeling of fresh air.
