“Souls of Emptiness” by Alice Baburek

Empty eyes. Empty heads. Empty souls. They did not hear the call of danger nor see it in the distance. Discarded as if their existence was a permanent stain on the sins of humanity, while hidden away from the cruel judgment of societal norms. Only to become extinguished within the torturous walls of their isolation.

The heinous atrocities committed in the name of mankind could not be undone. Wickedness was inflicted upon those precious lives that were snatched from mere existence.

Exalted as a deity, an egotistical man was more than just nefarious.  His inner being was consumed by an ungodly hunger to control and eradicate the least resistant.

Never before were such gruesome acts of terror unleashed by the demented power of hatred.

His insidious reign continued as the rest of the world watched and waited with pause. It was not until the endless cries of innocence reached out and shook the masses to their core that they demanded freedom and justice.

As decades passed by, the carnage left behind from an unconscionable war seeped into the annals of history, only to remind the human race of its soulless rendition and infallible failures.
