One more year by Miriam Costa

Submerge!

Now everything here moves quietly. There are no more reasons to cry
Nor missed phone calls!
I pointed the knife,
Then I mercilessly removed a piece of my heart. ( Gave it to you )
I toppled pasts
Thus, to the most resentful I gave them some hope.

Submerge!

My animalistic reaction has no elegance but it’s not meant to be,
Cold as the crystal that rests, ( he said once )
Warm as the sun that shelters, only within your fantasy
In the swiftness of knowing all the rooms…

Submerge!
I remain alive despite all the contradictions that have been introduced,
viruses and the world revolted by their bitter lives and lovers drowning into my arms…
I am alive!
One more year!
