«ALL ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS RUSH» By: Minette D. Aralar
It is the 24th of December once more. From my view of the glass-paned window of the 34th floor of the hotel room, the blinking red and white lights of passing vehicles down below the busy street have obviously diminished, compared to the horrific bumper to bumper traffic of the previous days and weeks – the iconic Christmas rush!
Young, bright-eyed tots in the mall are whimpering for a ride at the carousel, obviously one of their most awaited treats of the day. A few hours soon, Christmas will officially make its grand debut for this year.
Notifications on cellphones kept on coming, as friends, families and colleagues send the most heartfelt holiday cheers and greetings to one another. This infectious holiday jest will surely tug in the hearts of even the most stoic person alive.
But the truth is, what matters between this night and tomorrow – CHRISTMAS DAY – is the genuine warmth, joy, hope, faith, love and peace that reignite in the hearts of each and every one, who believes in the true spirit of CHRISTMAS.
