When Another Poet Says Something Cool, Just Dig It by Scott Thomas Oulart

diamond-studded language –

a tongue, a pen, a stroke, a strand

of silver silken thread

one intonation

bubbling from the mouth,

the thought, the voice, the prism

of crystalline inspiration

   sends shockwaves, shivers,

                          ripples of spasming connection

                  through mental tissues

   like w/a rose,

              a butterfly,

                     a peak high,

                          a prized trophy

   it’s better in the seeking,

                     the reaching,

                              the wonderment

                   rather than plucked (spoiled)

                                      & clutched

                            in palm’s overeager flesh
