I have this recurring dream.
Sun rays jump through my window
and dance around my bed.
They are not the blinding lights
through morning shade slits
but rhythmic splashes
both perky and pesky.
They hum happy hymns
which envelop me
in a saffron scented spray
that I slowly breathe in
and gradually come awake
as they silently slither back
to the sacred safety of dreams.
