«TRUTH AND LIES» by Maggie Watson
If it is the truth you seek, swallow your lies.
Even when coated in sugar, deception burns.
Truth leaves no bitterness on the tongue.
Unless applied harshly as punishment for your crime.
Truth never closes its eyes as it speaks.
Beyond shuttered windows, grey is
the only colour you will find.
How can you trust anyone who refuses
to stand in the light?
Truth has no fear when held in hands
for closer inspection without fancy wrapping paper to avert attention.
In perfidious actions, one must beg the question,
«What do you seek to hide»?
