«The Saturn Return Theory» by Karlyn Miraflor
I sit in my lonely, hopeless and frantic of what could be.
Startled by eyes prying on me
Terrified of the future that awaits me; I glance through emergency exits helplessly.
Contesting synergy between the younger me as I flinch with every passing memory.
Regression slowly rewires what can never be.
A child swallowed with shrinking thoughts of negativity.
Pessimistic chants of the person she tried to be.
Made endless parallel of the world she can’t break free.
Drifting her way out of chaos and nonentity, she brawls with angels and demons carrying her wits.
An empty self in a functioning body, delights in her catastrophic version of a stony pit.
Recluse in wonders of what she can only call her own, a sanctuary she yonder fit.
Whorl continues to augment darkness, dire straits she daydream its attrite.
